About the Precision Quality Internship Programme

The Precision Quality Internship programme trains and equips young people with the soft and employability skills needed for the world of work. This programme boosts competency-based learning, precision, and accuracy of work and elevates the standard in the delivery of tasks. The programme is run by the Design & Technology Institute in collaboration with Accents & Art, and is worth approximately $5,000 per person but is fully funded for all selected participants.

Who can enrol?

The Precision Quality Internship Programme is open to all young Ghanaians aged 18 to 35 years old (especially young women) who are "Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET)" and are looking to upskill, reskill and enhance their technical competencies. The programme admits graduates from institutions across Ghana's 16 regions.

What is the goal of the programme?

The goal is to bridge the gap between students' academic preparation and real-world/industry needs, thereby enhancing graduates' employability and guaranteeing them access to fulfilling and dignified jobs.

What will I learn?

Participants will be trained in both soft skills and hard skills:

  • Soft Skills: Mindset shift, entrepreneurship, communication, leadership, business and financial literacy
  • Hard Skills: Technical, vocational, and creative abilities specific to your chosen pathway

The programme combines theory-based learning with practical assessments and hands-on projects aligned with industry standards.

How long does the programme last?

The training aspect of the programme lasts 6 months. During this time, participants are upskilled, reskilled, and made ready for industry through comprehensive soft skills and technical training.

Where are the training locations?

Training takes place at five locations across Ghana: Accra, Takoradi, Ho, Kumasi, and Tamale. Your training centre assignment is determined during the enrollment process based on your location and cohort availability.

Is the programme free?

Yes. The programme is worth approximately $5,000 per person but is fully funded for all participants who are selected. There are no tuition fees or costs for accepted participants.

What happens after I complete the training?

After completing the training and project work, participants will be placed in jobs where they can earn a substantial income to support their livelihoods. Those found capable will be assisted in setting up their own business and granted seed capital.

Do I receive a certificate?

Yes. Participants who successfully complete the programme requirements, pass required assessments, and meet attendance requirements receive official certification from the Precision Quality Internship Programme.

How does the blended learning approach work?

The Precision Quality Internship Programme uses a blended learning model that combines online course materials accessible through this Learning Management System with in-person practical sessions at your designated training centre. You will complete theory modules, quizzes, and assignments online, while practical skills training and assessments occur at the physical training facilities.

When does the programme run?

The programme runs for three yearsâfrom 2025 to 2028âwith multiple cohorts. Each cohort has its own application deadline. Check the official PQI website or contact support for current cohort enrollment information.

How do I enroll in a course?

After being accepted into the programme, you will receive enrollment credentials and an enrollment key from your programme coordinator. Once your account is approved, you will be assigned to your appropriate cohort and enrolled in your designated courses. Contact your centre coordinator if you have not received enrollment information.

What are the assessment requirements?

Each course includes multiple assessment components that may include quizzes, assignments, practical demonstrations, and final assessments. You must achieve the minimum passing grade specified for each assessment type. Detailed grading criteria and requirements are available within each course module.
